From New York Times and USA Today Bestseller Vi Keeland comes a steamy new standalone novel about a rockstar. Or two.

Dimpled smile of a boy
Hard body of a man
Sings like an angel
Fucks like the devil

I was stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place.

At fifteen, his poster hung on my bedroom wall. At twenty-five his body hovered over mine. Every girl’s fantasy became my reality. I was dating a rockstar. Yet I was slowly falling for another man. The problem was—the two men—they shared a tour bus.

Flynn Beckham was the opening act.
Dylan Ryder was the headliner.

What happens when the opening act begins to shine so bright, it seems to dim everything else in its wake?

I’ll tell you what happens. Things get ugly.

Can be read as a standalone.

➦I'm just gonna make this a real short review. This is the second book in the Life on Stage series and it also has a love triangle in it. There's also cheating, just a warning. And despite all that the book still somehow worked for me. I was smitten by the hero, Flynn. :D

➦So imagine you are working as a vocal coach on tour with one of the hottest bands of all time. And the lead singer in the band is your boyfriend, who has been your idol since you've been a teenager. But then you start coaching a lead singer for the opening band and you end up having a CONNECTION! So now what the fuck do you do? Yep, that's what this heroine here is going through.

❤I loved that these two connected through music. The heroine has big time stage fright due to a traumatic event from her past. Flynn helps her deal with her fears and blah blah blah they just can't help themselves...

➦Recommended for those who like forbidden romances, rock star romances, love triangles.

She's stuck between a rock(star) and a hard place

FLYNN

LUCKY

Lucky has been obsessed with rock star Dylan Ryder since she was a teenager and now at age 25 she has been dating him for a year. She has everything she wants,a career she loves and the man of her dreams so what happens when temptation in the form of Flynn Beckham gets in the way???

"I've wanted you since the minute I laid eyes on you,"I whisper in her ear."God,I fucking want you"

Flynn and Lucky first meet when he walks into the bar she co owns...the attraction between them both is obvious.Imagine their surprise when Lucky finds out he and his band are the supporting act to Dylan's band's tour and Flynn finds out the girl he has been dreaming about is Dylan's girlfriend....

So,circumstances throw Flynn and Lucky together. They develop an easy friendship which turns into something more...

What made this book work, for me,was the writing and the great characters.Flynn has got to be one of the sweetest, sexiest male characters ever and I loved Lucky, the way she fought her intense feelings for Flynn and the guilt she felt towards Dylan

I really enjoyed this...plenty of steamy moments,a bit of angst and sexy rock stars....perfect!!!!

The author has created characters that are real, believable and complex and brings them to life as we see them dealing with their feelings and dreams. It’s impossible to not be captivated by them – I even liked Dylan Ryder…though I wanted Lucky & Flynn to be together!!!

My favorite character was Flynn Beckham………..

The relationship build-up between Flynn & Lucky was so well-written…friends, who are unable to fight the deeper feelings for each other….

Can you imagine dating the heartthrob who hung on your bedroom wall as a teenager? I am not even sure who mine would be probably Jonathan Taylor Thomas or someone from the New Kids on the Block. Regardless, Lucky is living that life. When you first meet Lucky it seems her entire life is put together. She is dating Dylan Ryder, famous rockstar, owns her own bar and is in her own right a success. Her life is completely on track until Flynn Beckham makes her question everything.

A man I’ve wanted since I was fifteen. I’m living every girl’s fantasy. Only, I’m not a girl anymore.

Flynn Beckham is a rising star, crazy talented and absolutely beautiful. He makes Lucky question everything and when he joins Dylan on tour it gets even harder for Lucky to fight her feelings.

I wasn’t expecting a love triangle, but that is exactly what we got. Regardless, it wasn’t hard for me to chose sides. I loved Flynn. He is such a great guy and I loved seeing him interact with his family, he was just a decent guy.

But living life without temptations is like having a heart that doesn’t beat. And I’m a musician. I need a good strong beat.

This story has some intense heat and passion. I enjoyed all the music lessons and personal growth throughout the story. My only complaint is I felt the inner thoughts were the same for both characters, they didn’t feel unique. I do recommend this story if you are a fan of love triangles or musical romances.

***This review contains spoilers so be warned.****

I want to preface this review by stating this book is a perfect example of no matter how big of fan-girls we may be at Guilty Pleasures, that occasionally one of our favorite authors puts out a book that just doesn't work for us. It doesn't mean we give up on the author, it just means this one wasn't a good fit. These are the hardest reviews to post, but we owe it to everyone to provide honest reviews. ~ DiDi

Okay so, without diving into too much more about the novel’s plot and story line, I will admit that this story might not be every readers’ cup of tea. It has some of what my blogger and reader buddies would call “red flags/hard limits” primarily because of the whole cheating and love triangle aspect.

However, that said, luckily for me and many of my blogger kin, I was pre-warned by the author and walked into this braced with an open mind and was overjoyed that it managed to keep my love for Vi Keeland’s writing intact!

Beat felt like a backstage pass behind what goes down in the rock and roll world! Love mixed with lies, egos, success, aspirations, as well as destructive behaviors, can cause a tumultuous recipe for appeal and chaos.

Everything was just no holds barred, angst ridden, pulsating, steamy, and downright heart-wrenching!

I mean, I feel you Lucky, and yet I don’t… choosing between two hot rockers…Phew, I wish I had such hot commodities fighting for my affections, only, I did not like Dylan. Not at all.

And Flynn? Wowza! He become one of my new book bf's!! Hehe

#Another triumph from the innovative and intensely addicting mind of Vi Keeland!
~~Please, if you’re on the fence on this one, take a chance on this bad boy and one-click it!!~~

It’s sexy, sweet, angsty and impossible to ignore with a blurb that hints at all sorts of deliciousness with a “dimpled smile of a boy, hard body of a man, sings like an angel, fucks like the devil.” Beat is everything I expected in a rock star romance.

Lucky is living every girl’s fantasy. She’s dating Easy Ryder’s front man. The very man she’s been infatuated with since the day she first saw him perform live at her father’s bar when she was a teen. But when she meets Flynn Beckham, she slowly discovers the true meaning of falling in love and having her own shining star that lights up her life.
“You’ve been inside me since the day we met. It’s time I return the favor. Only I’m going to be much more literal.”

Flynn Beckham should be thrilled. He’s going back on tour, playing to sold-out stadiums, absorbing the crowd’s energy and then he can go backstage and take advantage of all the rock star perks. But all he’s interested in is the music and getting to know more about his voice coach. The only problem is that Lucky may be on tour helping him with vocal exercises, but she’s also in his same bus sharing the lead singer’s room.

Who will Lucky choose, her teenage crush or the man who makes her smile deep and true? Will Lucky and Flynn cross the line from friends to lovers?
“I think it needs one more verse. Another sonnet for the last set of connections.”
“I’m ready. What line are we writing about crossing today?”
“Friends and lovers.”

I am normally not a love triangle reader. Mainly because of the angst and that one person comes out hurt. But I loved the cover, I was instantly drawn in by the blurb and after being forewarned about what to expect I jumped into this great read and came out not just loving the story but also the author’s style.

Vi Keeland’s writing is has a gripping quality that pulled me into the lives of the characters. From the very preface and how Lucky and Flynn meet, I was engaged in the story and stayed absorbed in it until the very sweet and happy end.
“His voice is seduction in the form of sound, and it flows from him with the ease of a pro.”

Flynn is the perfect book boyfriend. I feel like anyone who gets to know him will fall in love with him. He’s the complete package that constantly made me swoon. He’s beautifully sexy, he’s incredibly talented without being affected by it, he’s thoughtful and supportive, endearing with a lovely heart and I melted at the way he saw her.
“Watching her is like watching a butterfly. It’s beautiful on the outside, its wings decorated with color that captures your eye, but it’s the way the butterfly flutters around, always seemingly out of reach, that makes you follow it with your eyes.”

I liked Lucky’s sass. And even when I wanted to shout that she should dump the not so nice or awesome Dylan, or when I felt she could handle situations in a more mature way, it was ingratiating how we slowly got to know her, her fears and see how she finally realized what she really wanted.

I love how from their first meeting, sparks fly between Flynn and Lucky. The flirting was great and I enjoyed how they get to know each other in such a deep way, how their friendship slowly grew. Their performances, both the official and non-official presentations – yes there were Disney’s Frozen singing going on – were awesomely sweetly, hot or just plain spectacular.
“Earrings, rings, leather tied around his wrists, tatted skin, scruff on his face, hair a sexy mess – and sings Disney songs to his niece. The inside of this man may just be as beautiful as the outside.”

It was great that the rock band aspect of the story wasn’t just adornment to the plot but an integral part of it. Beyond the performances, I thoroughly enjoyed how Lucky and Flynn collaborated and connected while song writing. The tension and scorching chemistry between them made me melt. They complemented each other perfectly and pretty soon lines that once were clearly drawn began to blur.
“There is something so comforting about the way he looks at me… It makes me feel like he really wants to hear whatever I have to say – like each conversation is a layer he peels back, yet his goal isn’t to strip me bare. Instead, he leaves me feeling blanketed.”

As I mentioned or as you can surmise by the blurb, this book has a love triangle. Both Lucky and Flynn fought their attraction. Flynn also had personal experience of what cheating can do to a relationship so he wasn’t willing to put someone else or himself in an unavoidably difficult situation.
“I should walk away, not even go near the temptation. But living life without temptation is like having a heart that doesn’t bet. And I’m a musician. I need a good strong beat.”

Despite their best intentions, their connection was inevitable and only grew stronger the more time they spent together, even when they wanted to deny it. It also put them in strenuous circumstances which due to lack a communication became stressful. But the heart wants what the heart wants and it’s impossible to fight against that. And truth be told and without going into detail, I did not suffer much for Dylan.

I’m so glad I decided to give this book a chance. Not only did I love the romance which was angsty, steamy and adorably sweet, but I also added a wonderful author to my list.

Beat has a wonderful pace that had me glued to it from start to finish. It is written from both points of view so we get the different sides of the story and can better connect with both the main characters. The story can is a standalone with a happy ending.

In the words of Hannah Montana, I might even be a Rockstar.

Beat was so good. I didn't even know it was the second book in the Life on Stage series. I just saw the book on audible, clicked, and devoured it. Everything about this from the couple to the romance was likable. Not going to lie, I enjoyed every second of this book.

The one thing I would change is the whole love triangle deal. Ugh, I just don't like them and sometimes they work. It's rare for me to like them and I was definitely getting fed up with certain things in this one. Heck, at one point I didn't even care to see who ended up with who.

In the end, it was predictable and cute. One series down and I'm onto another.

DANG.....this book was definitely not my normal go to read! It has some of my biggest book no-no's, but I continued on because I just fell in absolute and total love with Flynn Beckham. I wanted to throttle Ms. Lucky for a large portion of this book, but even that was over shadowed but the dimpled wonderful-ness of Flynn. I will say I'm glad I stayed with this to the end, I wish the epilogue was a bit longer after the torture of the last half of this book...it sounds like I didn't like it, which is kinda true...yet I did. URG, not an easy review.

I loved the first book “Throb” in this series really really very much but this 2nd book is only half good as the first one.

Well, there is this love triangle here. Though I don’t like them much, I can accept love triangles if the one who needs to choose is wise and decent and not indecisive.

This is life. People change, feelings change. We can’t help it sometimes. Happily ever after is not always possible. That is why, if one of the people in a relationship is suddenly attracted by someone else and he/she falls for that person, I am not that surprised. Things like this happen. The problem is what you will do then.

Clearly, if you are attracted by someone else that much, this means your present relationship is not that good. This new attraction will help you understand that. If there is a new one who you want to be with, then it means it is high time you end the present one so you can move on to this new relationship. Stalling, not being able to decide what to do, sleeping with the two of them at the same time is like staying in the purgatory, which means you are in-between two things and cannot move. The worst decision ever is indecisiveness.

I like this saying:
“If you love two people at the same time, choose the second one because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn’t have fallen in love with the second one”...

OK, all that said, let’s go back to the book. This could have been a nice romantic read for me if the heroine did not drag her feet for so long.

description
FLYNN

This is what happens:

The new guy (Flynn) falls for the girl (Lucky) without knowing she has a boyfriend (Dylan). After learning it, he doesn’t stop flirting or teasing but does not try to even kiss the girl. He just hopes she leaves him.

The girl falls for the new guy knowing she has a boyfriend who is in fact her teenage crush.

The already present boyfriend is not loyal to the girl. The new guy knows this but he doesn’t say it to the girl not to influence her decision. (I think the purpose of this detail is clear. It is for the readers not to hate the heroine for cheating – well, her boyfriend is also cheating!)

Whatever...

When our girl and the new guy cannot stay friends and give in to their feelings, they sleep together and after this first time, the girl asks:

“What are we going to do?”
And the guy says:
It is not a matter of “What are WE going to do” , it is a matter of “What are YOU going to do dear, because I am here waiting for you.”

Right? He is so right...
Now, what she needs to do is to end the other relationship and continue this one because she has already started it without finishing the other one.

But oh, no... She says she will try to figure things out and she cannot figure them out till the last few pages.

Come on, you have fallen in love with this guy now, and by sleeping with him you have cheated on your present boyfriend. But from now on, every time you go back and sleep with the other, you will be cheating on the new one. See? If you have started something new, stick with it. How hard is it? You are not married with 3 children for God’s sake! Isn’t it a shame on both guys now? Not cool, not cool at all... I was so annoyed with her. Her taking things slowly and her indecisiveness ruined the book for me.

(P.S. I loved Flynn in the first book and I still loved him in this book)

We first meet Flynn in Throb.
He’s an up and coming rockstar, looking for love.
He seemed sweet enough and genuine enough.. but is he really???

YES! Yes, he really is!!!
I am in love with Flynn!

Vi Keeland knows how to write a book boyfriend, let me tell you!

Flynn is beautiful, has dimples…dimples ladies, and he can sing!
He’s a gentleman, sweet and caring.
He's also an amazing uncle, funny, charismatic and HOT!

He reminds me a bit of Kellan... kind of. Not sure if I should make that comparison or not, but the charisma, the talent, morning chats over coffee, the torn between two men... it has that Thoughtless resemblance, but don't freak out people!
This is SO not the same story.

This book is flirty, funny and sexy. There's one moment that I got actual tears in my eyes.. but then I went right back to laughing!

I know I haven't mentioned Lucky yet, and she's an awesome chick.. but I'm kinda stuck on Flynn!

Lucky has been around music her entire life, with both of her parents being musicians. She was born to it.
She lives and breathes it.
She works in it.
She falls for men who live it!

Lucky and Flynn have that certain je ne sais quoi that draws them to each other.
I enjoyed their natural, easy going friendship, with their sexy innuendos and smokin' chemistry.
He is also so incredibly sweet with her. The way he takes care of her and is there for her, just melted my heart!

“Everyone needs that someone who will be that person for them.”

I also loved the secondary characters.
Little Laney was adorable, and Nolan is a trip!
The banter between Flynn and his bandmate had me literally laughing out loud.

To wrap it up.... Beat is another awesome book by Miss Keeland! It has everything I look for in a must read!

3.5 STARS

Genre: Rocker Romance – almost a love triangle
Cover: 8/10
Writing: 7/10
Heroine: 5/10
Hero: 9/10
Humour: 3/10
Hotness: 5/10
Romance: 7/10
Extra book Details: Heroine & hero POV; 1st person. Stand alone.

Beat was a good, but not great read for me. I didn't mind the 'love-triangle', it was pretty obvious who the winner would be. I couldn't really care for the heroine, she was normal enough. Halfway through it went all Thoughtless on me though, ie; indecisive heroine and the hero and heroine being morning friends who give in to temptation every so often.

I did, really love the hero, he was sweet, hot, adorable, boyish... all the good things. It was the only thing that really brought it through for me and stopped it from being an average read.

Oh yes this lived up to all the hype it's been getting and I just loved Flynn.

I did feel uncomfortable about the cheating but it worked both ways so I'm not judging on that account.

One of the better rocker romance stories.

"Flint to spark. Fire." Boom!
Beat is like dark chocolate, a guilty pleasure that melts in your mouth. And speaking of melting, be prepared to do just that. I already loved Flynn after meeting him in Throb. The poor sexy rockstar didn't get the girl on the reality TV show. I'm sure he had an infinite number of offers to console him afterwards, who can blame them? The TV show brought his beautiful dimpled smile to their attention, but unfortunately his band, In Like Flynn, had yet to be recognized. So, when hanging out at Lucky's, a local karaoke bar, it was his good looks that were to blame for the Screaming Orgasm that got delivered by Lucky herself. He was drawn to her immediately and the stalking began. However; he preferred to call it "industry research". He wanted to know who she was and what she was afraid of. She did a little "industry research" of her own in spite of the fact that she already had the man of her dreams. Unfortunately her best friend didn't feel the same way and had adopted the habit of referring to him in a very unflattering way. While they both liked the band, their music, and had ogled the poster on Lucky's teenage bedroom wall, Avery was no longer impressed. So, when Lucky's career landed her on a tour bus with BOTH sexy rockstars you can guess which one her best friend was voting for. But how could she consider the opening act when she had already managed to catch the headliner? Dylan Ryder was her teenage fantasy that became her adult reality. She had what she wanted...didn't she? He's every girl's dream, so why was someone else starring in hers? And most importantly, the big question I had, was there a fire extinguisher on the tour bus? Because, damn, there were multiple sexy rockstars on that bus and the sparks were flying. And I don't just mean the sexual kind, the tempers were sparking too. If the jealousy, both romantic and career related, didn't kill them the "fucklust" would. But dayum, what a way to go...sigh.

4.5 Fantastic Stars!

Review by Lisa Kane
I should walk away, not even go near the temptation. But living life without temptation is like having a heart that doesn't beat. And I'm a musician. I need a good strong beat.

Let me state right up front; I am not usually a fan of cheating in books. However, every once in a while a story comes along and you think if I was one of the characters in this book, I would so be doing the same thing. That's how much I related to Beat.

Luciana Valentine, "Lucky" is 25 years -old, and is a co-owner of a popular bar named after her-Lucky's. Her parents were rock stars who divorced when she was 5. Her dad devoted his life to raising his little girl-her mom, Iris Nicks-not so much. Lucky had a beautiful voice, but her nerves would tend to get the best of her. But then she would see her dad in the audience and all would be fine. Up until her life changed in an instant and she could no longer sing in front of the public. But she's been content with running her bar and she's got a plan, kind of a twelve step program for fixing her singing issues.

Flynn Beckham is gorgeous, talented and his band, In Like Flynn, is just about to break out. He was in a reality show and was nominated by a magazine for one of America's most eligible bachelor awards, so he is making a name for himself. His band just got a gig opening up for Easy Ryder, one of the most iconic bands around, for their Wylde Ryde tour. His is absolutely devoted to his niece Laney and his sister Becca whose douche bag ex left her for his 22 year-old teaching assistant that he knocked up.

When he stops into Lucky's for a business meeting, he's pretty god smacked at the site of Lucky. There are sparks firing all over between these two, and some flirty exchanges are ricocheting all over the place.

Flynn goes back to the bar a few times looking for Lucky but hasn't spotted her. But at his business meeting with Dylan Ryder, in walks his girl-none other than Lucky! Flynn can't believe the irony in this and Lucky isn't thrilled with the situation either. She's been with Dylan a little less than a year. He's 10 years older than her and he was the subject of her teen age crush for years. His is the face whose posters hung all over her room. And now-he's her boyfriend. She can't believe that she is dating the guy who she idolized for years. But now she's met Flynn...

There is a lot of interaction between Lucky and Flynn. Dylan is on the road; Flynn is set to join them in 2 months. Lucky may not be able to sing anymore in public, but she is a voice coach at Dylan's label, Pulse Records. Flynn has some nodule throat issues that Lucky helps him try to overcome. Steamy, swoony, witty, humorous encounters that made me love these two together. The fact that Dylan is an egotistical jerk, who I suspect may be partaking at the groupie buffet he is bombarded with helped me overlook any discomfort I may have had between what was happening between Dylan and Flynn. While he told Lucky he was detained coming home on the night that Flynn and Lucky met, due to a "missed connection", he told Flynn, with a wink, that it was because he got a "last-minute proposition that was too good to pass up." See, total douche hat.

Dylan somehow is under the impression that Flynn is interested in Avery, Lucky's partner in the bar. But he tells Flynn that he knows Avery well and she's a c*#t. But he bets she's a hot lay and he wonders if he can talk Lucky into a little two on one action-see-double douche hat.

The witty banter between Flynn and Lucky really makes this story. Both are quick witted and so in tune (notice the musical pun!) with each other.

"Well, I need to see you holding your instrument to assess you fully, then."
Flynn's eyebrows quirk up and the dirty grin on his face is unmistakeable.
"The guitar. I'd need to see you holding the guitar."

Things get complicated quickly. Flynn doesn't want to be someone that Lucky hides; he wants things out in the open and isn't worried about the consequences that might occur with his band and their gig opening up for Easy Ryder. Flynn is not someone who likes to sneak around, or be the one who has to hide. He wants things out in the open. He wants to be able to publicly show his feelings for Lucky. But Lucky isn't as sure of her feelings and she has a loyalty to Dylan.

"I'm not the other guy."

I adored this book! Flynn is the type of guy every girl should meet-loyal, sexy, talented, honest-I kept holding my breath every time reading that Dylan was pawing at Lucky in front of Flynn. I knew one of these times he had to break and take out his frustration between the legs of some back stage skank. How could any hot guy refuse what is pushed in his face day after day? I was so frustrated with Lucky-here's the guy you should be with instead of that deceiving douche you have tied yourself to!!

But then where would be the conflict, the angst, the "who will she choose" if choices were so easily made? Dreaming of being with someone you put on a peddle stool for years and finding that your dreams came true is overwhelming. But letting go of that dream to be with someone you barely know-now that is the stuff that makes up a great story! But you're going to have to read this one in order to find out who Lucky chooses.

Read this one, love it, get over the cheating because in the end to quote Flynn's favorite saying,

"Everything happens for a reason."

5 beautiful stars!

I am a huge fan of Vi Keelands work. So when I saw she was writing Beat I was super excited to meet her rocker Flynn. And boy oh boy did he meet and exceed my expectations!!!

I'm sure it contains that element that many cant read ( it states in blurb that it's a love triangle) but I'm the type of reader where I have NO LIMITS to what I read. It's fiction, sovI can handle just about anything. But if you're willing to look past the characters imperfections and see it for what it is, humans who make mistakes and sometimes those mistakes help define us as a person, you will get a damn good book!

Flynn is going to the top of the book boyfriend charts. His sexy swagger will melt any girls heart. He just happened to stuble upon one Lucky girl ;) <-----Herione's name is Lucky! (I'm a goof I know.) from the moment he sets sight on her he knows he has to have her. Only thing is the lead singer of the band he is opening for has already claimed her.

He leaves her alone only to be thrown together when she becomes his voice coach. And SPARKS FLY! They can't fight the pull they have toward one another.

I haven't read Throb yet, and I intend to go and read it soon. But Beat is a stand alone so you can read it without reading Throb. But you meet Flynn there so I'll be going back to get more of him <3

Beat is a beautiful tale of how sometimes life may seem perfect one beat and then a whole different kind of perfect the next. It shows as humans we all make mistakes and its up to us to either let it define you, or make you a better person. Lucky and Flynn are characters you don't want to miss meeting!

**arc received from author via TRSoR in exchange for backstage passes, shots of patron and a review from us book hos at http://www.twounrulygirls.com **

Loved Flynn..

I am a girl that doesn't really have "dealbreakers" I try to remain a reader that takes the story for what it is..an escape from the hustle and bustle of real life, laundry, dishes, work, etc...so I just want to love the couple, feel their pain..happy...joy...turmoil...with Beat you feel it all and more.

I LOVE Flynn...he is kind, hot, and knows what he wants right from the beginning. Waiting for Lucky to catch up is part of the pull of this story. Knowing that the Douche Lord she is with isn't where she was meant to be...you wait...pray...cringe...cheer...and get so pissed you want to throw your damn kindle across the room. This author has an ability to immerse you so quickly into the story and characters, so much so that you suddenly realize you're at 48% and bargaining with yourself to slow down, to savor.

Lucky is existing...she has all she ever thought she wanted but isn't actually feeling any of it. Paralyzed with fear and sadness has made her life a series of steps to conquer it all, no one has stepped in to help until she spots bare feet in the crowd. Small things like that are what make loving Flynn SO EASY.

It's simple really Vi Keeland writes a story...Dawn wants to read story. The rest is history!

The End...

My 5 Star "In Like Flynn" Review
Addictive, Engaging, Super Sexy, A Make You Feel Good Time

Beat is classic Vi Keeland!

Characters you fall in love with. Smart and sexy writing. Great banter. Lots of humor, lots of smexiness, a touch of angst, and an all over skin prickling feel good story.
As your bright and tiny spark
Lights the traveller in the dark,
Though I know not what you are,
Twinkle, twinkle, little star.

Blog Tour Post: https://beautyandthebeastlybooks.word...

Although Beat is a standalone novel there is a previous book, Throb, that has our hero in it.

Speaking of our hero, Flynn is such a great combination of sweet and sexy in a rockstar!

The story in Beat stars when Flynn goes to our heroine’s bar, Lucky’s. Lucky’s is the bar that Lucky, our heroine, opened years ago and now is owned by her and her best friend. Lucky is also an amazing singer, and her parents were rockstars as well, but she that has stage fright after a traumatic event in her past and now works as a voice coach.

Flynn is immediately taken by her. And you can say she was also taken by him. The only problem? She actually has a boyfriend. And he is a rockstar. But so is Flynn, although he is fairly new in the business compared to Dylan.

Dylan is Lucky’s boyfriend and singer in the band Easy Ryder and Flynn’s band In Like Flynn is actually their new opening act. Plus when their bass player need a time out so Flynn is called to fill in for him too. Soon enough Dylan is jealous of all the attention Flynn gets. Not only he is super hot, he also sings very well. Even better than Dylan I dare say.

Dylan is a jerk in my opinion. He wants Lucky to be on his beck and call. She even sells part of her bar to her best friend so she won’t work there anymore. She’s their label’s voice coach and Dylan has his way to make her go on tour with them to coach Flynn. And that was just one of his many mistakes, because Lucky and Flynn’s chemistry is undeniable. The tension is off the charts.

I loved how sweet Flynn was and all the ways he comes up to help Lucky with her stage fright. Also, his little niece, Laney, was absolutely adorable! There’s something about a book hero that gets along with children, right?! They are even sexier!!

Flynn is one of those rockstars that are sweet and approachable, yet hot and sexy. So when Lucky can’t decide soon enough who she wants, her boyfriend whose posters she had in her bedroom wall since she was a teen (and she could’t believe she started dating years later) or the sexy new rockstar that enters her life, it breaks Flynn’s heart a bit.

But she isn’t a wishy-washy, indecisive heroine. I hate those kinds. She actually knows what she wants, she just needs to have the courage to go and get it!

I really liked Beat. The writing, the characters, the story. They were GREAT!

One thing I wish that was different, though, is that I wish it focused a bit more on Lucky’s problem and her “steps” to overcome it!

I wouldn’t mind a little bit more into the story either, because who wouldn’t want a bit more of Flynn????

Beat was steamy, but it also have a great story, so it’s the kind of steamy that I enjoy! Vi Keeland did a great job with it and now I want to read Throb and meet Flynn back then to see who is the crazy lady that actually let him go. Lucky for us, he did find his way into his own story (pun intended)!!!

Wow..
Sweet , Beautiful love triangle..
Honestly i'm not much into love triangles but this one totally passed it..

Flynn Beckham : Sexy as sin . Panty - dropping voice. Beautiful boyish dimpled face.
Girls can't resist him.. Who
wants nothing more than one girl he shouldn't want..

Luciana "Lucky" : indeed a very lucky girl. Has the one thing that every girl wants... A rockstar boyfriend..

Dylan Ryder: 'The D-Bag'. Rockstar but a jerk in all ways..

This is the story of a girl who has grown in a musical background..
Has spent half her life on tour bus..
She is a simple girl who has her own baggage..
The girl who practically grew in music is now afraid to be on stage and the one person who brought her calm on stage is the one person behind her this panic..
Her dad starts a karaoke bar and over the years she starts to have a crush on Dylan..
Finally dating for a year..
Nd here comes Flynn who is popular , about to start his big step in his music career and falls for the wrong girl . HARD.

He is everything a girl could want in a man. Nd yep i can say I loved him..
I loved this book but i'm not sure about the ending (not the epilogue..)
i had a hard time figuring out Dylan. I guess he was a jerk to colleagues and staff. But he usually acted like he was much into Lucky.. He was possessive of her.. And was kinda acting sweetly to her too.
The ending could have been more interesting but it was really a good book..

I'd say it's a worth read who want a simple light-hearted love story..
